object permanence 2016
A series of experimental prints where I left steel plates exposed to the elements - burying them in my garden, in snowbanks, and leaving them where they can be watered with the lawn. The process created a deep layer of rust on some plates - the rust becomes the matrix for the ink. Almost all of the mark making is achieved by serendipity + the weather- my hand is only present in the process of printing and added drypoint marks and plates.
